01

What does “sleep implant” mean?

The Korean term refers here to implant treatment with conscious sedation, including medicine given through a vein. It helps you feel relaxed and may reduce your memory of treatment. It is different from general anaesthesia, and local anaesthetic is used for pain control. Individual experiences vary.

02

Discussing whether sedation is suitable

Tell us about dental anxiety, previous treatment experiences and any concerns about a longer procedure. The team reviews your health, medicines and the planned surgery before deciding whether sedation is appropriate. It is an option to assess, rather than a requirement for every implant.

03

Assessment, monitoring and recovery

The Korean treatment guide describes CT assessment, sedation, implant placement with blood pressure and pulse monitoring, and rest in a recovery room before discharge. Ask the team to explain your individual sedation plan and discharge arrangements.

04

Before your appointment

Provide a current medicine list, relevant medical conditions, allergies and any previous problems with sedation or anaesthesia. Follow the hospital’s personalised instructions for eating, drinking and medicines. Do not change prescribed medicines on your own.

05

Your visit and journey home

Arrange an accompanying adult and do not plan to drive after sedation. Allow time for recovery and follow the team’s discharge instructions. Nausea or dizziness can occur. Discuss your return journey and flight schedule before arranging treatment.

06

Fees and booking

Ask for an itemised implant quotation and confirmation of whether sedation is included in your proposed plan. Existing advertised treatment prices remain unchanged. Sedation does not remove the implant’s healing period or guarantee completion in a single visit.

Questions to discuss

Will I be completely asleep? Conscious sedation is not general anaesthesia. Can I request it on arrival? Contact us beforehand so suitability and preparation can be assessed. Can I come alone? Arrange an escort and confirm the recovery requirements with the team.
